ECP Advocacy Award Winners

The American Board of Clinical Psychology (ABCP) is pleased to announce the 2026 recipient of the ABCP Early Career Psychologist (ECP) Advocacy Award:

Jared Boot-Haury, PsyD, MBA, ABPP

Jared Boot-Haury, PsyD, MBA, ABPP, is a Board Certified Specialist in Clinical Psychology and a licensed clinical psychologist at Kaiser Permanente in San Francisco, where they provide psychological assessment for autism and ADHD in adults. Dr. Boot-Haury is also an AASECT Certified Sex Therapist Supervisor and WPATH Standards of Care v8 Certified Mentor. Their advocacy focuses on advancing affirming, ethical, and evidence-informed mental health care for LGBTQ+ and other marginalized communities through clinical practice, research, professional leadership, and policy change. They have held national leadership roles in LGBTQ+ health advocacy, including serving as Vice President of Policy and Government Affairs for GLMA: Health Professionals Advancing LGBTQ+ Equality, where they contributed to organizational policy statements addressing asexual-affirming care, consensual non-monogamy, interstate licensure compacts, transgender and gender-diverse healthcare, and prescribing psychology. Dr. Boot-Haury has also contributed to advocacy through APA Division 44, including efforts related to Veterans Health Administration coverage of gender-affirming surgeries, and through research-to-policy translation focused on improving LGBTQ+ cultural competency training for healthcare providers.

This annual award recognizes ECPs who are board certified in Clinical Psychology whose advocacy has had a positive impact on policy, law, public reform, communities, and/or institutional change.

Award recipients will receive $1,000 to offset the cost of board certification and to honor their contributions to advocacy.
