The American Board of Clinical Psychology (ABCP) is pleased to announce the 2025 recipient of the ABCP Early Career Psychologist (ECP) Advocacy Award:

William W. Leu, PhD, ABPP
William W. Leu, PhD, ABPP, is a Board Certified Specialist in Clinical Psychology and a Major in the United States Air Force. He serves as an active-duty clinical psychologist and is currently the Family Advocacy Officer at Aviano Air Base (AB), Italy, home of the 31st Fighter Wing. In this role, he directs the prevention and treatment of domestic violence, child abuse & neglect, and problematic sexual behaviors in children & youth for approximately 8.4K service members and their families stationed at Aviano AB and geographically-separated units across Italy, Hungary, and Romania. Major Leu graduated from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, MD, earning a Doctor of Philosophy in Clinical Psychology, and completed his pre-doctoral residency at Malcom Grow Medical Clinics and Surgery Center, Joint Base Andrews, MD.
This annual award recognizes ECPs who are board certified in Clinical Psychology whose advocacy has had a positive impact on policy, law, public reform, communities, and/or institutional change.
Award recipients will receive $1,000 to offset the cost of board certification and to honor their contributions to advocacy.
