Welcome to the first edition of our new ABPP Publication, On Board with Professional Psychology. This is part of an overall refresh of our communications efforts and strategies, including changes to content and format, in addition to our name. As always, there is a lot going on at ABPP and we invite your ideas, contributions and participation.
Welcome to our new editor, Dr. Alexander Khaddouma. Board Certified in Couple and Family Psychology, Dr. Khaddouma takes on this role immediately and will serve his first term until December 31, 2025. We are delighted to have Alex ‘On Board’.
The ABPP BOT is busy with many new and ongoing initiatives, including those related to technology, finances, marketing, and diversity. Feedback about our IT platforms has been almost universally positive, and we thank Cerebral Consulting and Dr. Rob Davis for his inspired work and vision for ABPP’s technology; it is truly the engine that makes our organization run.
We are in the process of affiliating two new boards (Addiction Psychology and Serious Mental Illness Psychology), which you will read more about in this issue. Furthermore, the Psychoanalysis Specialty Board is re-organizing into a broader specialty of Psychoanalytic and Psychodynamic Psychology, with a subspecialty in Psychoanalysis. This will be only the second subspecialty recognized by ABPP (the first was in Pediatric Neuropsychology nearly a decade ago). So, there are lots of exciting changes on the horizon.
I am grateful for the time and dedication each of our trustees and employees gives to the organization and want to ensure that our efforts are most productive. I look forward to our ongoing collaboration for the benefit of our specialists, the ABPP organization and our mission. Please feel free to contact me at bspiegler9@gmail.com with your feedback and suggestions.
