A Letter from the ABPP President

Dear Newly Board Certified Psychologist,

As President of the Board of Trustees of the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP) I want to be among the first to congratulate you on becoming board certified.  It is my sincere hope that now that you are board certified you will become involved with your board and academy, and become an ambassador for ABPP as well. ABPP is going through an exciting period of growth at the current time, and I hope that you will work with us as we move forward.  To this end I ask that you consider (1) encouraging at least one colleague to seek board certification in an ABPP specialty, and (2) forward to the president of the relevant specialty board(s) the name and e-mail address of this individual so that they can follow up with the potential candidate and send relevant materials. The ABPP convocation is held at the annual convention of the American Psychological Association in August.  This event allows ABPP to recognize newly board certified psychologists, and also provides board certified psychologists an opportunity to make new friends and meet old ones.  Please visit the ABPP website at www.abpp.org for more information about this event and ABPP more generally. Please feel free to contact me at bspiegler9@gmail.com if I can be of assistance or if you have any suggestions about how ABPP can better serve the public and/or psychologists.

With warm regards,

Brenda Spiegler, PhD, ABPP
President, American Board of Professional Psychology
