Do you have a question or need help?
Please check our FAQs section first: you will probably find the answer!
Applicants
Like all of our forms (applications, practice samples, etc.), the Standards Committee forms are web-based. If you need to complete one or both forms, they will be triggered automatically after you submit your application.
If you cannot locate the certificate, you may have the site supervisor email the required information. Be sure to include the dates, location, what was observed, and how many hours. We need the supervisor’s name, title, contact information, and location. It may be easier to contact the location/school to have them resend it to you.
Candidates
To check your status, locate the Start page and click on Check My Status. Under Check My Status, all the information is listed. This information will tell you anything that our Central Office would be able to relay.
There are many ways to do this, but two free ones are here:
Also, in some cases, you may be able to remove blank or nonessential pages from the PDF. Finally, saving a file (e.g., Word document) directly as a PDF rather than printing and scanning it is another way to reduce file size.
We usually recommend compressing the video so that it’s under the limit using a free tool like this one.
Most practice sample videos range from 750 MB to 2 GB. Larger file sizes are not desirable nor necessary for many reasons.
Specialists
If you are a current specialist, please login to our website. Once logged in, do the following to obtain your verification. Click on Directory, enter your last name, and click Search. Locate your name and click on the verification letter (in blue). Your verification letter will open; you may download or print it. If you need to edit your directory listing, please click Edit Entry. If you need to have a verification letter sent directly from our office, please provide who the recipient is, an email address, or a mailing address with the request.
First, please be sure that you created your directory listing. Each ABPP specialist is responsible for creating and updating his/her/their listing. Specialists are invited to create their listing after achieving board certification; it’s in the official letter.
Existing directory listings may be updated through our Directory page. Be sure to login first. Once logged in, click “How do I edit my directory listing?” and follow the instructions.
Finally, if you have created a listing but it is not visible, please be sure that you are current with your annual attestation and fee. Non-current specialists do not appear in our directory.
In Fall 2023, we began offering automatic annual renewal for attestation payments. Signing up for automatic payment is easy and ensures that you will not forget to submit the payment and incur late fees or suspension of specialist-only privileges.
Each specialist will be offered the option of making a single payment electronically (credit card or ACH) or enabling automatic renewal. When automatic renewal is selected, the attestation payment is made as usual, but our merchant service stores your data as an annual subscription. Importantly, your payment information (e.g., credit card number or bank routing/account number) are not stored on our website. Rather, they reside exclusively and securely with our merchant service that uses bank-grade security.
Once enabled, your attestation payment will be processed one year later. You will receive advance notice before your payment is processed. You may opt out of automatic renewal at any time or update your payment information on the Account page.
Anyone who originally did not opt into automatic renewal may do so when the next round of attestation reminders goes out in Fall 2024.
Good news! You can now update this online 24/7 through our Directory page. Be sure to login first. Once logged in, click “How do I edit my directory listing?” and follow the instructions.
Please see the MOC link in the Specialists section of the website.
