| Please provide a brief (i.e., 2-3 sentence) description of the basis for the award. | This award is in recognition of Dr. Krissie Fernandez Smith’s exceptional service to the American Board of Forensic Psychology (ABFP). In addition to bringing a wealth of knowledge regarding forensic psychology to her positions on the board, Dr. Fernandez Smith served in the demanding role of Corresponding Secretary for five years. She also reviewed numerous practice samples and participated in multiple oral examinations. As President of the board, Dr. Fernandez Smith led ABFP through the ABPP Periodic Comprehensive Review process and made substantial improvements to the Candidate Manual and Examiner Manual. Dr. Fernandez Smith has also conducted several presentations focused on developing and improving forensic assessments in diverse populations. |
