The ABPP Marketing/Outreach and Communication Committees are excited to introduce Jeff Shafar, a Digital Marketing Strategist, who will be helping ABPP build our social channels. Our goals are to build a library of content on YouTube to drive general public traffic to the ABPP website to find board certified specialists, showcase specialist accomplishments and specialty boards activities on Instagram, Facebook, X and LinkedIn and educate the public as well as professionals on the importance and value of ABPP board certification across all channels.

The most difficult part in building engaging social channels is obtaining quality content to post. So, we are asking for YOUR help as a board-certified specialist.

Below are two kinds of short videos that we are looking to receive from ABPP specialists, which would be edited and formatted for ABPP’s social media outlets:

1. Question & Answer: Specialists will choose one question from their field of work that they know the general public may be misinformed about and answer it in short form.

  • For example: How do I know if I am depressed? What is a functional neurological disorder? What should I do if I think I have a concussion?

2. Member Highlight: Specialists will answer the following three questions:

  • What inspired you to get board certified?
  • How has board certification contributed to your professional activities?
  • What advice would you give to psychologists or trainees interested in pursuing board certification?

Want to be spotlighted, contribute a video, or learn how to get involved? Reach out to Jeff Shafar at jeff.shafar@abpp.org or jeff.shafar@gmail.com.
