Title of Presentation: Recent Increases in Attacks on Psychological/Neuropsychological Test Security in the Legal Arena: Steps to Take
Availability: On Demand
Presentation Summary:
In this webinar participants will be helped to problem-solve how to respond to increasing demands within the legal arena for access by nonpsychologists to protected neuropsychological/psychological test information and materials, and demands for third party observation (including audio- and video-recordings) of exams. Participants will be educated as to the necessity of maintaining test security, both for the field of clinical psychology and neuropsychology, and for society in general. Participants will be alerted as to recent publications regarding test security, and statements issued by test publishers, that can be used to educate the judicial system on the importance of test protection. Discussion will also include methods to protect tests in those circumstances in which psychologists/neuropsychologists are ordered to turn over test data sheets or audio recordings of testing to nonpsychologists.
Learning Objectives:
1. Participants will be able to identify four reasons why protection of neuropsychological/psychological tests is critically important.
2. Participants will be able to identify two recent authoritative publications regarding the importance of maintaining neuropsychological/psychological test security.
3. Participants will be able to list potential steps to follow when presented with demands for access to protected psychological test information by nonpsychologists within the legal setting.
