I’m grateful for the opportunity to bid farewell as my tenure as the Associate Editor of On Board with Professional Psychology has come to an end in June 2025. When I first entered into this role in 2022, the OBPP publication took a very different form. In close concert with Dr. Alex Khaddouma, my colleague and Editor of OBPP, I am so proud of the genesis of this new, rebranded publication. I know that the Associate Editor role will be an opportunity for a new leader to add their creative and scholarly impacts, improving the OBPP product even more.
As I reflect inward, I’m most grateful for the opportunity to connect with my colleagues through this role. Truly, I have learned so much from fellow Specialists, many of whom are practicing in innovative settings across the country. Through my work with the Communications Committee and the authors of OBPP articles, I’ve expanded my network of colleagues who are passionate about professional psychology. This role has also helped to incentivize and value Board certification even more, recognizing the myriad of advantages for psychologists and the populations we serve. I feel more connected to the “ABPP tribe”, which is deeply impactful given the geographically isolated setting where I practice. I will pay it forward, with plans to continue in mentorship roles for junior colleagues who are pursuing ABPP, and with the opportunity to remain a member of the Communication Committee moving forward.
Special thanks to Drs. Brenda Speigler, Rick Day, Laura Flashman, Kitty Deering, Alexander Khaddouma, and ABPP staff members for your support and guidance during my time with OBPP. Onward!
