Public Member Nomination

We will soon have an opening for a Public Member to serve on the ABPP Board of Trustees (BOT). The Public Member is a voting member of the BOT and represents the interests of non-psychologist stakeholders in the business of the organization. The Public Member attends two meetings a year of the BOT, participates in committee meetings on which the Member serves, and responds to written and oral communications from the Central Office.

The term of service shall commence on January 1, 2027 and extend to December 31, 2029 (completing the current Public Member’s term). The Public Member may subsequently be re-elected to a second four-year term. The newly elected Member must be available to attend the December 2026 virtual BOT meeting in order to be mentored by the departing Public Member.

Candidate nominations should be submitted on this page by April 30, 2026 for review by the Trustees at the mid-year (June) BOT meeting. Application materials must include an applicant’s stated interest in serving in this capacity, a nominating specialist’s letter identifying the basis for the nomination, and a copy of the applicant’s CV. These materials must be limited to 10 pages in total. Incomplete applications or applications received after April 30 will not be considered.
