Colorful hands reaching for ethics letters concept

On behalf of the ABPP Ethics Committee, it is a pleasure to announce the launch of the “Ethics Corner” in 2024 which will be found in the On Board with Professional Psychology publication.  The Ethics Committee consists of five (5) to eight (8) voting members appointed by the ABPP Board of Trustees President.  Our role is to serve ABPP constituents and specialists by providing education and consultation. To this end, the Ethics Corner will feature clinical vignettes highlighting ethical situations and dilemmas, as well coverage on relevant ethical issues which arise in clinical and forensic settings. We look forward to providing valuable information and remaining available for questions via our consultation service.

The ABPP Ethics Committee provides consultation services to ABPP constituents, including board certified specialists, the Board of Trustees, Specialty Boards and Academies, and the Council of Presidents of Psychology Specialty Academies. These consultation services focus on responding to inquiries related to ethical standards, principles, and guidelines governing the practice of psychology.

Please note that the guidance is of a general nature and does not constitute legal advice. To obtain a consultation from the ABPP Ethics Committee, please submit a Consultation Request Form. A more detailed description of the Ethics consultation process is also provided on our website.
