Summary of ABPP Recognition Status

Most U.S. states and the District of Columbia recognize ABPP board certification as part of their licensure by endorsement or reciprocity process for psychologists.

Some states and territories (such as California, Puerto Rico, Guam, American Samoa, Northern Mariana Islands, and the U.S. Virgin Islands) do not explicitly recognize ABPP certification or require standard documentation and examination.

A few jurisdictions provide no clear information or do not mention ABPP in their laws or rules.
