Clinical Health Psychology Academy
Awardee: Julie Radico, PsyD, ABPP
Dr. Julie Radico has selflessly served the American Academy of Clinical Health Psychology for over 7 years in a variety of positions, including Member-at-Large, President-Elect, President, and Past President. Her expertise within the specialty has both internal and external impact through her work as a practice sample reviewer and her coordination of quarterly, robust question and answer seminars. Throughout her tenure, Julie mentored more than 100 candidates, achieving a 97% overall pass rate for board certification. Her mentorship not only ensures that the competencies of the specialty are met but also that board certification in clinical health psychology is attainable for candidates. Additionally, Julie spearheaded several process improvement initiatives leading to the establishment of the Academy’s YouTube channel, which serves as a depository for the most up to date clinical health psychology resources. Dr. Radico’s contributions are far reaching and have reflected great dedication to the Clinical Health Psychology Academy Board.
Clinical Neuropsychology Board
Awardee: Julie Bobholz, PhD, ABPP
Dr. Bobholz has served as co-chair of the exam committee and led the annual AACN workshop series on preparing for board certification for over a decade. In these roles, she has helped to oversee the examination process from written exams through oral examinations. She has been involved in multiple written exam revisions as well as the development of semiannual oral examinations for roughly 96 candidates per year. Dr. Bobholz has truly been an integral part of the successful examination process for ABCN, and we would not be where we are without her. We are deeply grateful for all of her service to ABCN.
Counseling Psychology Board
Awardee: Ted Stachowiak, PhD, ABPP
Ted has expertly served ABCoP, most recently completing his term as ABCoP Oral Exam Co-Chair. Ted has been an invaluable asset and historian to the specialty board’s recent work to revise our certification process as a result of his longtime involvement with the board since becoming certified in 1984. Ted has mentored many specialists and board members over the years and is most deserving of this recognition.
Forensic Psychology Board
Awardee: Martha Smith, PsyD, ABPP
Dr. Smith is an exceptional choice for this award. In addition to her warm and supportive leadership, she played a central role in revising the ABFP written examination and remained actively engaged in advancing policy issues within the field. Her tenure was marked by steady, principled, and deeply respected leadership during a period of evolving challenges.
Rehabilitation Psychology Board
Awardee: Serina Hoover, PsyD, ABPP
Dr. Hoover has served on the board of directors for the American Board of Rehabilitation Psychology (ABRP) for over 10 years in numerous capacities including board Secretary, President, and most recently as the ABRP Representative to the ABPP Board of Trustees (BOT). She also currently serves as President of the Rehabilitation Psychology Division (22) of the American Psychological Association (APA). Her life-long commitment to the field is evidenced by her generosity in donating so much of her time to the cause, and her kindness and collaborative spirit capture the heart of what it means to be a Rehabilitation Psychologist.
